Genesis: The Fear of Man
In Genesis 26:6–12, we find Isaac repeating the same fear-driven choices once made by his father Abraham. Fear of wicked men and fear for his own life led Isaac to sacrifice truth and character. Yet even in his failure, God remained faithful and merciful.
In this message, we look at how the fear of man becomes a snare, how fearing for our own mortality can cloud our integrity, and how God’s mercy meets us even when our decisions fall short. From Isaac’s dishonesty to God’s unexpected protection and abundant provision, Scripture reminds us that the Lord is faithful even when His people are fearful.
As we close, we reflect on the question: What fears tempt us toward moral compromise today—and how does God’s mercy lead us back to faithfulness?
